The company's premises are located in Tampere, and we strongly believe that close cooperation between experts from different fields will help us create a first-class application that allows our users to learn advanced English. Currently, the company's office days are Monday and Wednesday, but when necessary, we work face-to-face more often.

Timo-Pekka Leinonen
CEO & founder
Before WordDive and Master English, Timo-Pekka (M.Sc., M.Sc. (Eng.)) worked for 19 years at Nokia, where he was responsible for global business operations for a network management system with a turnover of 400 M€. During his career, Timo-Pekka has worked and lived in Germany, Japan and the USA.
Lauri Leinonen
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Lauri (M.Sc.) created the successful WordDive high school prep course and increased sales of the WordDive mobile app to over 100 000 euros per month in 2020. Since then, Lauri has focused on managing the Master English business.
Atte Hynninen
Chief Product Officer (CPO)
Atte (M.Sc. (Eng)) is responsible for the user experience of the Master English application as the Chief Product Officer. Atte has a deep understanding of the functional, visual, and auditory requirements of applications in the international playing field.
Juha Rintala
Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
In addition to leading product development, Juha (M.Sc. (Eng)) is responsible for further developing the algorithm that powers the Master English application. Before joining the WordDive and Master English teams, he worked for ten years at Nokia in demanding product development roles.
Laura Heinsuo
Deputy Director, Language Learning
Laura (M.A.) is responsible, with her team, for producing learning materials for the Master English app and serves as a product manager on the team developing new training formats. Laura strengthens the leadership team with her pedagogical expertise.
Antti Arvio
Head of R&D & founder

Antti (M.Sc., M.Sc. (Eng.)) has over 25 years of experience in international sales and business development at ABB, Nokia and M-Files. Antti Arvio has served as the company's Chairman of the Board since 2016. In his role as Head of R&D, he is responsible for the product development line organization, subcontracting and contracts.
Elle Yliruusi
Director, Operations
Elle (M.Sc.) is responsible for developing and supporting the company's business and leading development projects. Elle previously led the WordDive business and strengthens the leadership team with a comprehensive understanding of different areas of the business.
Timo Kallela
Chief Experience Officer (CXO)
Master English Ltd's leadership team was strengthened when Timo Kallela (M.Sc. (Eng.)) started as CXO on November 1, 2024. Timo is a long-standing software industry professional with experience in CTO-level positions since 2007. Before Master English Ltd, Timo has worked, among others, as a consultant and CEO at Varaani Works Ltd, as well as CTO at Ticker Software Ltd and Surveypal Ltd. At Master English Ltd, Timo is responsible for the user experience of our website, which serves as our main sales channel.

Elina Kivioja
Board member
Elina is an experienced strategic leader and changemaker with an exceptionally strong track record of building successful business growth across multiple industries. She has served as CEO of Vattenfall Finland from 2016 to 2023.
Patrik Sallner
Board member
Patrik is an experienced international SaaS and digital services business growth maker who has served as CEO of MariaDB, OpusCapita, and Fonecta, as well as a business director at Nokia and F-Secure. He has extensive experience in strategy work (including as a McKinsey consultant), M&A, and VC and PE financing.
In addition to the above, CEO Timo-Pekka Leinonen is also a member of the Board and Head of R&D Antti Arvio continues as Chairman of the Board.
